How to Check If Your Coax Wiring is MoCA-Compatible HTEM4

How to Check If Your Coax Wiring is MoCA-Compatible and Ready for the HTEM4

Your MoCA adapters will not link if there is a problem with the coaxial wiring inside your home. MoCA requires that all coax outlets be on the same continuous coax network. Here's how to check:

 Step-by-Step Checklist:

             - ✅ All coaxial outlets must be connected to a central splitter.
             - ❌ Homes previously wired for satellite TV (like DirecTV or DISH) often isolate coax lines
             - ✅ Use only MoCA-compatible splitters (5-1675 MHz range)
             - ✅ Avoid amplifiers or filters that can block MoCA signals
             - ✅ Check that coax outlets in each room are live (try a cable modem or TV signal test)

Test Your Coax Network:
            1. Plug in both HTEM4 units into two different coax outlets
            2. Connect both to power and Ethernet (one to router, one to device/laptop)
            3. If the MoCA light turns on on both units, the network is MoCA-compatible.

If not, your coax lines may not be connected or require rewiring/splitter changes.
