How to Test HTEM4 MoCA Adapters for Proper Functionality: Troubleshooting Guide

How to test the HTEM4 Adapters to ensure that they are functioning properly

  1. Take a coaxial cable and connect it between the top ports of both MoCA adapters.

  2. Power on both adapters and wait for about a minute.

  3. Check the MoCA lights on the bottom of the adapters. If they turn blue after a minute or two, it means the adapters are communicating properly through the coaxial cable.

  4. Optionally, connect an Ethernet cable between the two adapters. If everything is working correctly, you should see all LED lights on both adapters lit up – two blue and two green lights.
Note: If the lights don't display as described, there might be an issue with the setup or with one of the adapters. Double-check the connections and try again. If problems persist, further troubleshooting or contacting customer support may be necessary.

These steps help ensure that your MoCA adapters are functioning correctly before integrating them into your home network.

If this test is successful, then the next step would be to verify that the 2nd Coax Outlet that you want to attach a MoCA Adapter to is connected to the main Coax Splitter in your house.  Often times, you can find this splitter in a Utility Closet.  OR you can take the 2nd MoCA Adapter to another Coax Outlet and see if it can link to the first MoCA Adapter.
