HTEM4 Speeds Explained – What to Expect with 1 Gbps Ethernet

The HTEM4 uses MoCA 2.5 technology, but it features a 1 Gbps Ethernet port. Here's what that means for performance:

MoCA 2.5 Network Speed:

  • Up to 2.5 Gbps of shared bandwidth over coax

  • Supports multiple devices with low latency

HTEM4 Ethernet Speed:

  • Capped at 1 Gbps per adapter

  • Still excellent for:

    • 4K/HD streaming

    • Online gaming

    • Remote work

    • Mesh WiFi backhaul

Why It's a Great Fit:

  • Most homes have Internet plans under 1 Gbps.

  • Provides consistent wired performance where the WiFi is weak.

  • Better value than more expensive 2.5 GbE models if your router/network doesn’t support Ethernet speeds over 1 Gbps.

Consider Upgrading to the HTEM5 MoCA Adapters If:

  • You have a 2.5 Gbps or faster Internet plan.

  • Your devices and router support multi-gig (over 1 Gbps) speeds.
