WiFi Doesn't Work, But CODA57 Modem Does

Note: The CODA57 Cable Modem is solely a modem and does not include a built-in wireless router. If you require wireless connectivity, you would need to purchase a separate wireless router. Once you have the router, you can connect it to the CODA57 Cable Modem using an Ethernet cable.

Issue:

Your Hitron CODA57 modem is functioning correctly, but your WiFi connection is not working. This issue may be caused by your WiFi router not receiving a new WAN IP address from the new CODA57 modem.

Solution:

The most effective way to resolve this issue is to power cycle your WiFi router. Follow these steps to power cycle your router:

Steps to Power Cycle Your WiFi Router:

Turn Off your Modem

Remove the black Power Cord from the back of the modem.

Turn Off your WiFi Router

Locate the power button on your WiFi router.
Press the power button to turn off the WiFi router.
Alternatively, you can unplug the router's Power Cord from the Power Outlet.

Wait for 30 Seconds

Allow the modem and WiFi router to sit powered off for at least 30 seconds. This step is crucial to ensure that the modem and router completely reset and clear their previous IP address settings.

Turn On your Modem

Plug the black Power Cord into the back of the modem and into the power outlet.

Turn On your WiFi Router

Press the power button again to turn the WiFi router back on.
If you unplugged the router, plug it back into the power outlet.

Allow the Modem and WiFi Router to Reboot

Wait for the modem and router to fully reboot. This process may take a few minutes. During this time, the router will establish a new connection with the Hitron CODA57 modem and request a new LAN IP address.

Check your WiFi Connection

Once the router has rebooted, check your WiFi connection on your devices.
Ensure that your devices are connected to the correct WiFi network and that the connection is stable.
