With a Hitron HTEM4 MoCA Adapter, do I still need a Modem/Router?
YES. MoCA Adapters are Home Network Adapters - not modems or routers. The MoCA Adapters "adapt" your coax wiring to perform like Ethernet to create a network backhaul and connect directly to your modem/router to complete the network connection.
How fast is the HTEM4 MoCA Adapter?
Actual speeds will vary depending on the condition of the coax wiring in your network. Maximum throughput over the MoCA Network for MoCA 2.5 is up to 2.5 Gbps. Since the HTEM4 has 1 Gbps Ethernet port, the maximum throughput to end devices is 1 Gbps.
Can you plug in an Ethernet switch into a HTEM4 MoCA Adapter?
Yes. Hitron’s HTEM4 MoCA adapters have a 1 Gigabit Ethernet port that is compatible with any Ethernet device. This allows you to use a 5-port or 8-port Ethernet switch to get more ports to connect to.
Can I use HTEM4 MoCA adapters with any Internet Service Provider (ISP)?

Do I need more than one HTEM4 adapter?
You only need one HT-EM4 if you have a MoCA-capable broadband device. If your router does not support MoCA, you will need two MoCA devices, one for your router and one for the device that you want to connect to, a gaming console for example.
Can I connect an OTA antenna to the HTEM4 adapter?
No, HT-EM4 will not descramble television signals or convert the signal to Ethernet.
